Trillivikla » In English » Paddling in Linnansaari

After a heat day, it is nice to go paddle in the quiet lake and enjoy the wonders of the wilderness. In the Linnansaari National Park, paddling opportunities are rich. Open lake areas and lots of islands and islets make the scenery mosaic like. There are always something to see and watch.

You notice, that there are rich world under the lake calm surface. The extremely undangered Saimaa seal can pop up just beside the kajak for taking a breath. It is looking you a while and as suddenly it appear as sudden it is gone to his secret ways.  Between the rodden and craked rocy islands are nice inlets to paddle. In the shadow of the isolated bay, beaver hit its tail hard towards the water and the resound is running over the water area.

Behind the next bay, Loons are having a golden sun bath in the last sun light beams. The hole bay is full of warm and shiny light. What of opposite of the beavers bay just while ago! Gulls are having noisy evening in their nesting colony. Lesser black backed gull is easily separated from the others with its lower and bristly sound. Big fish jumping away from the paddle, make the paddler jump and laugh.

Arriving back home, when the sun have just gone under the horizon a while, I notice, the Red necked grebe has got a first chick out of the egg. The chick has stripes like zebra and is climbing its mothers back, safe under a wing. I wonder, when the other sister is coming out of the egg, maybe even to night?
